Terms of Service
Last updated:
1. Who operates HubsTime
The HubsTime platform is operated by HubsTime, a sole proprietorship (enkeltmandsvirksomhed) registered in Denmark under CVR number 46664183, with its registered office (hjemsted) in Aarhus. Our address is Dybkjærvej 23C, 8200 Aarhus N, Denmark, and our VAT number is DK46664183.
You can reach us at admin@hubstime.com.
Nothing in these terms creates a partnership or joint venture between you and HubsTime.
2. The service
HubsTime is a learning platform where creators run Learning Hubs. In a hub, creators can write courses or generate them with the help of AI, publish them, and offer them free of charge, as single paid courses, or through a hub subscription. Learners can enrol in free courses or pay for access to paid ones.
Course content may be written by people or generated with the help of third-party large language models ("AI-generated content" — see Section 8).
We may add, change or remove features for valid reasons, such as improving the service, keeping it secure, meeting legal requirements, or changes made by our providers. If a change has more than a minor negative effect on a paid feature you are using, we will email you in good time before it takes effect, explaining what changes and when, and your right, set out in the next sentence, to end the purchase or subscription. If you are a consumer, you can then end the affected purchase or subscription free of charge within 30 days of that email or of the change, whichever is later, and the part you have paid for after it ends is refunded (købeloven § 77 b).
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use a HubsTime account. We do not ask your age when you create an account, so do not create one if you are under 16.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for what is done with your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect that someone else has accessed it.
You must give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date. We may suspend accounts that give deliberately false information.
4. When these terms apply
These terms apply when you use HubsTime. We do not yet show them to you, or ask you to accept them, when you create an account or pay; you can read them at any time from the link at the bottom of our public pages.
If you do not agree to them, do not use HubsTime.
These terms are available in English, Danish and Arabic. We do not keep a separate copy of the terms for each user: the version in force is always on this page, and you can ask us for an earlier version.
You need an account to create a course on HubsTime.
5. Payments, subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
Payments are made on Stripe's secure payment page. HubsTime never receives or stores your card details. Prices are shown on our pricing page, on course and hub pages, and before you pay.
If you subscribe to a HubsTime plan, it is billed monthly by HubsTime. If you subscribe to a Learning Hub, the subscription is billed through that hub creator's own Stripe account, monthly or yearly, as the creator offers it.
Subscriptions renew automatically for another period of the same length unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time on the Billing page. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling does not by itself refund that period, except where the law gives you a refund: your right of withdrawal (Section 6), and the right to end a yearly subscription described next.
If you are a consumer with a yearly subscription, Danish law (forbrugeraftaleloven § 28) may let you end it with one month's notice to the end of a month once 5 months have passed since you took it out; where it does, what you have paid for the time after it ends is refunded straight away (§ 29). To do this, email admin@hubstime.com.
Credits you buy for your wallet do not expire. Free or promotional credits, such as a welcome gift, do not currently expire either; if we ever introduce an expiry for them, we will tell you before it applies. HubsTime plans do not include usage credits.
AI course generation is paid from your wallet. If you cancel a generation that is already running, we may charge for the work already done. Your balance can go below zero by a small amount, at most $10; your next top-up first covers that amount.
6. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online, without giving a reason (forbrugeraftaleloven § 18, stk. 1, and § 19, stk. 1).
Of the cases in which Danish law lets this right end early, two are relevant to what is sold on HubsTime. For paid digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, such as access to a finished course, it ends once delivery has started, but only if you gave your prior express consent to immediate delivery, acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal, and received our confirmation of this on a durable medium (§ 18, stk. 2, nr. 13, litra b). For paid services, such as a subscription or wallet credits used for AI course generation, it ends only once the service has been fully performed, and only if performance began with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that the right would end once the service was fully performed (§ 18, stk. 2, nr. 2).
Our checkout does not yet ask for this consent or acknowledgement, and does not send this confirmation. So your right of withdrawal has not ended early for any purchase on HubsTime, whatever is said elsewhere on the site. We will update this section, and our checkout, before we rely on either exception.
The 14 days run from the day you made the purchase. Our checkout also does not yet give you the required information about your right of withdrawal on a durable medium, and where that information has not been given, the law extends the withdrawal period by up to 12 months (§ 19, stk. 3–4).
To withdraw, tell us clearly that you want to — for example by email to admin@hubstime.com — and say which purchase you mean. You do not need to give a reason, and you may use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to. We will refund everything you paid for that purchase without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after we receive your withdrawal, using the same means of payment (§ 22).
HubsTime does not yet offer the online withdrawal function ("withdraw from contract here") that Danish law requires for purchases made through an online interface such as our website (§ 20 a); until it does, you can withdraw by email.
- Model withdrawal form (complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract)
- To HubsTime, Dybkjærvej 23C, 8200 Aarhus N, Denmark, admin@hubstime.com:
- I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract of sale of the following goods (*)/for the provision of the following service (*),
- Ordered on (*)/received on (*),
- Name of consumer(s),
- Address of consumer(s),
- Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper),
- Date.
- (*) Delete as appropriate.
7. Your content and knowledge bases
You keep any rights you hold in the documents, web addresses and text you add to a knowledge base. You give HubsTime a non-exclusive licence to ingest, store and process this content, and to build a search index from it, in order to run your course generations and to serve your hub.
You also give HubsTime a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute the courses, profile details, ratings and other content you publish on HubsTime, so that the people you share it with, or sell it to, can use it. A course you create in someone else's hub may stay in that hub after you leave the hub or delete your account, and you give that hub's owner the right to keep offering it.
To make a knowledge base searchable, we send its text to our AI provider (named in our Privacy Policy, Section 6) to create a search index, which we store in our database in the EU. When a course is generated from a knowledge base, the passages retrieved from it are also sent to the AI provider that writes the course. HubsTime does not use this content to train AI models, and under their terms our AI providers do not either.
Deleting a single document removes it and its search index. Deleting a knowledge base hides it but keeps its documents and search index, so that courses already made from it can still show their sources. Deleting the hub hides its knowledge bases, but we keep them, their documents and their search index in our database; our Privacy Policy (Section 7) explains what we keep and how to ask us to delete it.
Do not upload material you do not have the right to use. If you upload documents protected by someone else's copyright, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or that the use is otherwise lawful — for example licensed or public-domain material, or a use that copyright law permits.
8. AI-generated content
HubsTime uses third-party large language models to generate course material. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate or biased. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before you publish it or rely on it.
To the extent the law allows, HubsTime does not guarantee that generated content is factually accurate and is not liable for decisions made on the basis of AI output that was not reviewed. This does not limit your rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Danish Sale of Goods Act (købeloven) if paid digital content or a paid digital service does not match what was agreed. In short: if paid digital content or a paid digital service does not conform to the contract, you can ask us to bring it into conformity; if we cannot or do not, or the defect is serious, you can get a price reduction or end the contract (if we tried to fix a defect that we show is minor and it remains, the law may limit you to a price reduction), and if you end it you get back what you paid — for a subscription that conformed for a while, what you paid for the time it did not conform and for the time left.
9. Acceptable use
Do not abuse the platform: no scraping or automated harvesting of content, and no attempts to get around our security measures or usage limits.
Do not use HubsTime to generate, distribute or organise material that breaks the law, such as illegal content, harassment or fraud.
To report content on HubsTime that you believe is illegal, email admin@hubstime.com with a link to it, why you believe it is illegal, your name and email address, and a statement that your report is accurate and made in good faith. We will confirm that we received your report and tell you what we decided and how you can challenge the decision; if we remove or restrict your content, we will tell you why.
10. Hub owners and admins
Hub owners and admins decide which courses their hub publishes and who belongs to the hub's team.
You can leave a course at any time from the course page, which deletes your enrolment and your progress in it. For any other personal data tied to an enrolment, email admin@hubstime.com.
11. Intellectual property
HubsTime and its licensors own all rights in the platform itself, including its code, branding and templates. HubsTime claims no ownership of the courses you generate or of the content you provide. A course created in a hub stays with that hub, including after its author leaves the hub or deletes their account.
You may not redistribute the platform or attempt to copy it.
12. Service availability
HubsTime is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may carry out maintenance, apply security fixes or change our infrastructure with or without notice.
During maintenance you may see a page saying that HubsTime is briefly under maintenance.
13. Limitation of liability
If you use HubsTime in the course of a business, HubsTime is provided "as is", HubsTime is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on AI-generated content that was not reviewed (see Section 8), and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid to HubsTime, including the commission we kept on your sales, in the twelve months before the claim. If you are a consumer, we are liable for loss we cause under the ordinary rules of Danish law, but not for loss we could not reasonably have foreseen.
Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer, or any liability that cannot be limited under Danish law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
14. Account deletion, data export and termination
You can delete your account in Settings. If you own a hub, you must delete the hub first, and if you have an active subscription to a hub, you can delete your account only after it has ended. If you have a paid HubsTime plan, you can delete your account only once the plan has ended: cancel it on the Billing page. A hub with a course sale that has not been refunded (or is still in progress), or with paying subscribers, cannot be deleted in the product; to close an account that owns such a hub, email admin@hubstime.com and we will close it by hand.
Deleting your account removes your account record and, in every hub, your enrolments and progress, follows, hearts, ratings and memberships. You also lose access to any balance left in your wallet and to the courses you bought, while their records are kept as the law requires. Courses and knowledge bases you created in other people's hubs stay in those hubs. Our Privacy Policy (Section 7) lists what we keep after you delete your account.
You can ask for a copy of your account data at any time by emailing admin@hubstime.com from the address on your account. There is no export button in the product yet. We will send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, in a machine-readable format where you are entitled to one, without undue delay and within one month of your request; for complex requests we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you why.
HubsTime may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, abuse the system or pose a security risk, with or without notice depending on how serious the situation is. When we do, we will tell you why and how you can challenge the decision. If we close your account, you get back what you paid for any period you can no longer use and for credits you bought that remain in your wallet, where the law gives you this right. If you sell on HubsTime, Section 19 also applies.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when we change our features or prices, when the law, a court or an authority requires it, or to deal with a security risk. When we do, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is material, we will also email you at least 15 days before it takes effect.
If you keep using HubsTime after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to you. If you do not accept a material change, you can end your account or subscription before it takes effect, and if you have already paid for a period that runs past that date, email admin@hubstime.com and we will end it on the date you ask for, and at the latest on the date the change takes effect, with the unused part refunded where the law gives you a right to that refund.
16. Governing law and courts
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by Danish law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you habitually live.
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings against us in the Danish courts or in the courts of the country where you live, and we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live. If you use HubsTime in the course of a business, the courts of Aarhus, Denmark, have jurisdiction.
17. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you have a complaint, contact us first at admin@hubstime.com so that we can try to resolve it directly. If we reject your complaint, in whole or in part, we will tell you by email how to take it to the complaints body below.
If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you can complain to the Danish consumer complaints body:
- Nævnenes Hus, Mæglingsteamet for Forbrugerklager, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark — naevneneshus.dk
- Conditions apply: currently, you must have bought from a business with a place of business in Denmark, the price must generally be between DKK 1,220 and DKK 100,000, you must first have complained to the seller, and the problem must be found within 2 years for goods or 3 years for services. Mediation costs DKK 100; if the complaint goes on to Forbrugerklagenævnet (the Danish Consumer Complaints Board), its fee is DKK 400, which is refunded if you win, if the case is settled mainly in your favour, or if the board rejects it as unsuitable for it to handle or as outside its remit. You complain through Nævnenes Hus's complaints portal (Klageportalen).
- The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform no longer exists: it stopped accepting complaints on 20 March 2025, and the regulation that created it was repealed with effect from 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228). We therefore do not link to it.
18. Buying from creators
When you buy a course or subscribe to a hub, you buy from the creator who owns the hub that offers it, and who receives your payment. The course page shows the course's author as "Sold by"; if the author is someone other than the hub's owner, the hub's owner is the seller. For a course, HubsTime takes the payment on the creator's behalf; for a hub subscription, you pay the creator's own Stripe account.
For every purchase made through HubsTime, you can withdraw and get your refund through us as described in Section 6, and complain to us under Section 17; the creator is responsible for what the course contains.
We do not yet ask creators whether they sell as a business, so we cannot tell you. We do not yet ask creators where they are established, so we cannot tell you; a creator's profile shows a location only if they add one. If a creator sells as a private person and not as a business, EU consumer law does not apply to your contract with that creator, but the commitments we make in these terms still apply.
On Explore, courses are listed newest first, by the date they were published; you can narrow them by searching, by difficulty or by creator, and the order stays the same. Hubs are listed by their number of followers, then by their number of courses. HubsTime does not sell higher places in these lists.
19. If you sell on HubsTime
To sell courses or hub subscriptions, you connect a Stripe account; Stripe pays you out, and Stripe's connected-account terms apply between you and Stripe. HubsTime keeps a commission on each course sale and each subscription payment. We do not yet show the rate in the product: email admin@hubstime.com and we will tell you the rate that applies to you.
We will email you at least 15 days before any change to these terms or to our commission takes effect, and you can end your contract with us before then. When we restrict or suspend your hub, we tell you why, at the latest when it takes effect. We give at least 30 days' notice, with reasons, before we close your account, unless the law requires otherwise, there is an imperative reason under Danish law that complies with EU law (for example a serious security risk), or we can show that you have repeatedly broken these terms.
You can see the enrolments and progress of learners in your hub's courses, and the name and email address of the members of your hub's team. If you leave HubsTime, you can ask us for a copy of your hub's data. Section 18 explains how courses and hubs are listed on Explore.
